a ring occurs when correct time is completed..item does not turn off automatically but you receive a signal that it is finished. It works very well for soft, medium, hard boiled eggs and poached. I have tried all of them.

The cooker has a timer, but will not shut off . Timer sound is loud, it is a very good machine.

No - it does start buzzing when it's done, but it won't shut down, so if you leave the buzzer buzzing too long, it will overcook the eggs.

Thank you for your question. This unit will not have an automatic shut off. The unit will sound when the eggs are cooked and the water has evaporated. Press the off switch to manually turn unit off.

No but it has a very loud alarm to tell you the eggs are done, it only takes like 10-12 minutes to cook them so its not like you should leave while cooking them, so not having a shutoff is not a big deal, just dont wander off.

When you use the Hamilton egg cooker the eggs are timed perfectly and the shells slide off.

Yes, its easier to peel shells when this product is used compared to hard boiled eggs prepared using stove top.

Well, I use regular supermarket eggs, so I can&#39;t compare...After a full 20 minutes from start to finish, it&#39;s easy to peel after cooling-hope this helps!

I don&#39;t think this egg cooker would make the eggs any easier to peel.  Mine peeled very easily when I used it, but they were store bought eggs.  Generally speaking, eggs peel easier if they are a little older.  Fresh eggs are the hardest to peel.  You might try collecting your eggs and keeping them in the refrigerator for a week or two, and then boil them and see if they are easier to peel.  Hope this helps.

Cooking time may vary depending on number of eggs and desired doneness. Approximate cooking time is up to 18 minutes for 7 hard-cooked eggs.

You adjust the amount of water depending on how many eggs you are cooking and the timer goes off when the water is all boiled away and eggs are done!

We purchased this because my daughter and son-in-law owned one and bragged about how well it worked. We have hard boiled large and small batches and every time the eggs were perfectly cooked. Also, used the egg poacher and this worked great as well. The only reservation I have is you would not want to use extra large eggs in the poaching tray since they would overfill the egg well. Also, when using the egg poacher, be sure to spray the tray liberally with spray oil so the eggs don't stick.

After a couple weeks of rigorous use, I would highly recommend.

Great product if you want your eggs cooked perfect

I have been wanting a hard boiled egg cooker for a while and this was a good price and I like Hamilton Beach products. This makes making eggs so much easier than on the stove and the eggs have been way more easy to peel than normal, also you dont have to poke the eggs on a needle to break the shell like all the other egg cookers make you do. Only negative is that it seems very cheaply built and lightweight, but that is ok if it still lasts for a long time.

This thing is great!

I don’t care for the loud beep it makes when the egg is done as it scares my dogs. Also the measuring cup for the water is difficult to read.  The description says it has different settings for cooking the egg ( hard boiled and such) but it’s the amount of water you use in the cup that effects the temperature.

This is the best and most efficient way to poach eggs, this is our second unit after 2 years of using it twice a day. We like the cookie maker as well in this style.

Great cooker

Seriously, I have no idea how I got along without this before. The boiled eggs peel perfectly and are cooked to perfection. The poached eggs are really nice as well. The only drawback is tha tyou can't do more than 7 eggs at a time.
