When I got this food scale, I thought, “huh, this'll be a great food scale that will also have the neat extra benefit of telling me the calories of things every now and then.” That's not incorrect but it's also only half the story.

First, the packaging was very easy to open and a pretty shade of green on the inside. The scale was well protected and the bottom had a pretty easy to type link to the paperless manual. I'd appreciate a QR code, but honestly greatergoods.com/0451 wasn't hard to type, so not really an issue.

The unit itself is a nice shiny silver with a not as shiny nutrition facts label around the lcd display. That display, though, is where the magic happens. 

Getting nutrition facts was as easy as looking up a 4-digit code in their app, which was well-organized and searchable, punching it in with the number keys, and weighing my item. Instantly it calculated all of the calories, sugars, etc. for that weight of that food.

What's more, though, by hitting “save” while the item is on the scale, it's possible to save those nutrition facts to a running total for the day that can be found by pressing the “total” button. I had no idea this would be a feature, but it's so simple and perfect it just belongs.

Finally, while there are a limited (up to 2000) number of preprogrammed codes, largely for bulk fruits, vegetables, drinks, and other things that usually don't come with nutrition facts labels, it is apparently possible to add up to 99 codes of your own, so I'll have to try that out when I find something that's not in the memory.

Overall, super classy product that does more than I could have imagined. I'm definitely going to be using it on a daily basis.

Great food scale with neat features!

In monitoring, or attempting to monitor my diet, I've always found it difficult to pre-design my diet in order to eat healthy and do not exceed my caloric intake. This is a game-changer. For it does not require all the pre-work on my end that I always failed to do and felt terribly about it, but it allows me to design, in the moment while I'm prepping/cooking, what it is I am going to eat, and more importantly, even if I choose an item or a recipe, HOW MUCH I should eat from it so as not te exceed my desired limits.
The scale offers both English and Metric systems, you choose, and provides a thorough booklet that outlines a specific 4-digit code for most conceivable foot items and their respective nutritional facts according to the weight of the food item. The scale allows you to convert the units to the daily calorie intake value %, which in turns tells you that, for example, this meal would constitute 25% of your DV caloric intake, protein, carbs, etc, which allows you to make an informed decision as you go.
It also has the ability to combine items, such as in a recipe, and get a TOTAL weight result for the recipt as well as a DV%
Lastly, it allows the user to customize up to 99 different items into 2 digit codes. Say you use onions a lot, well, then instead of looking up the 4-digit codes, you can assign it a 2 digit customized code now and make your life easier.
I'm super excited about using it and based on the use so far, definitely recommend it, and I'm truly excited to see how much it will impact my diet to the better.

Looks good, works well. It's a bit of a hassle to look up the codes, so I find myself just weighing (as opposed to tracking the calories as well). A bit pricey, but looks nice in the kitchen and does what it's supposed to.

I was so disappointed when it came in the mail because it was white instead of red. The only reason I chose this particular scale is because it matched all of my other red kitchen items. I spent an hour looking at different red scales, and this one had the best reviews, but the red color in the picture is very misleading.  VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
